Tools
Text files
Open any text file outside a project — with Notepad++-style find, mark and replace, and previews.
⌥⌘O opens a file, ⌥⌘N starts a new one; files also arrive from Finder (Open With › Beetool) or a drop on the Dock icon.
- Tabs and two sides; line numbers, multi-cursor, word wrap, visible whitespace.
- Find, replace and mark (⌘F, ⌥⌘F, ⇧⌘M): normal, extended or regex mode, match case, whole word, in selection, backwards; Count, Find All (this file or all open files), Replace All, Mark All, Copy Marked. Results stack in a search window (F4 / ⇧F4 to step).
- Go to line (⌘L); line endings and encoding in the status bar; a notice when the file changes on disk.
- Previews for Markdown, HTML (sandboxed, no scripts or network), CSV/TSV (an editable table) and SVG; images open as pictures.
